GOVERNMENT PHYSICAL EDUCATION COLLEGE FOR WOMEN

The Government Physical Education College for Women, Hooghly has been established in the year 1984 and housed at Government Training College, Hooghly under the Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal by considering that women candidates of West Bengal and other states will be benefited through this Teachers Training facilities as there were acute shortage of Trained Physical Education Teacher in Hooghly District and West Bengal as well.



This college is affiliated to the University of Burdwan , Rajbati, Dist- Burdwan. The college is running Two Years Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P.Ed.) Course and only Graduate of any discipline women candidates are allowed to sit for admission test as per NCTE and State Govt. guidelines. Permanent affiliation given by the Burdwan University in the year 1998.



The Govt. Physical Education College for Women, Hooghly has been recognized by the NCTE for starting B.P.Ed course (2 years) with present intake capacity 50 students in terms of Sec.(1) of the NCTE Act, 1993 vide order no. ERC/287.32/APE00651/B.P.Ed./2020/63406 Dated 22nd December, 2020.
