GOVT. TEACHERS' TRAINING COLLEGE, MALDA

Government Teachers Training College, Malda began its journey on October 1, 1964 from the newly built Malda College Girls Hostel which was lying vacant from awhile. Under the able stewardship of Prof. Dibakar Das Mahanta, Officer in- Charge, the College shifted to the present premises in 1968.It is the second oldest teachers training college under North Bengal University to which it was affiliated till 2008 and the only Government owned teachers training college in North Bengal. At present the college runs a B.Ed Course affiliated to the University of Gour Banga.. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2014. Its IGNOU centre runs B.Ed, M.Ed and MA in Education courses from 2007 along with a number of other courses.
